dedmanshootn > fever mask 05/20/08 not real pleased with this tho its the closest i could come to what i wanted with the energy and equipment available. was hoping to get much more of a 'death mask' effect but wasn't up to the challenge i fear. fevers have always laid me by the heels and i'm known to say "first you feel like you're going to die...then you wish you would". many many thanks for your kind wishes for health. i am getting better and putting this mask out there has helped with the post fever depression. Lord willing this will be the last you hear of this particular bout with a bug

DOD is out of the hospital for which we're grateful but that isn't why i haven't been on. please don't worry about me as its just some health issues that are virtually old hat for me by now. Lord willing i'll be back to shooting and posting now at least though i probably won't be able to catch the days i've missed of all your fine photos. shall be participating to the best of my ability and am really looking forward to seeing what's being shot out there. we were very slow at work so the little boss and i went out for some fun. i'm a little stiff and slow for such but we have a good time anyway. thank you all once again for your kind thoughts, comments and prayers from DOD and i. bless you for it

dedmanshootn > sparrow on a pretty perch 05/22/08 made it to work today for the first time since last week...YAY! had to come home early cuz ran out of energy but at least i made it for a while. wasn't sure i'd gotten a daily as i left work, tho i'd shot a couple things i hoped would turn out on my way to the bus in the morning. when coming home i almost always pull my camera out before i get off the bus just in case. i was glad i had today as this sparrow was perched so obligingly for a dp immediately across the street from the bus stop

dedmanshootn > honeybee on blue 06/23/08 don't know what this bush and flower are but i sure like them. apparently the insects do too. i saw at least five different types counting this gal. i've been hearing that the bees are dying/disappearing and i can believe it as this is the first honeybee i've seen this year tho i've seen many types of wasp and bumbles. i thought it cool how bright yellow and bulging the pollen she's carrying is. i don't have macro and was too lazy to carry my tripod, even tho i got a fine new shoulder case for it from my fam, so this is just my 18-55mm zoom hand-held. you who know flowers and plants, who have time and inclination, do you know what this is http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4434686_au3Uh#277433702_jPr7u
