dedmanshootn > oh yeah!, let's see ya do this! 11/21/09 it was another grey rainy day but only a bit of wind. did have one standout weather event tho. we had one, and only one, lightning strike but it was right by my place and it was a doozey. i happened to be looking out the window and saw it actually ground as it struck just up the alley from my place. one of the most different i've ever seen, and i've seen quite a few. was a solid, straight, wide, vertical column which appeared at least two to three feet wide nad a couple hundred feet tall. the thunder reverberated loudly for over five seconds and quieter for a couple more. it was AWESOME! probably lucky it was a hundred feet away or i might've burned my retinas. had the flash in my eyes for long minutes after anyway. made the hairs on my arms and neck stand on end too. totally cool! guess you can tell i was jazzed ;-) . this isn't that great cuz of the low light but i liked the col,or and position so you're getting it for today. posting early and off to bed. have a greqat week-end all to see previous dailies click here: http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/Other/the-daily-picture/
dedmanshootn > can't remeber what this is called 12/06/08 this is still from my thanksgiving trip. i made it in for a short shift at work today, which was good was there was a ton of prep to do, as i didn't work the past two days because i was sick, and we were happily fairly busy. i fell into a virtual coma as soon as i got home and just woke up anout an hour ago (11pm me. missed all your great shots today but i've got to go back to bed. seem to be shaking the crud but just way too tired. looking forward to spedning some time with your pics over the week-end. this is on the back side of mt. si (left in the linked pic) in north bend, wa http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/6723572_ZhpXn#428822952_Nu8nV

dedmanshootn > the muse of speed? 09/24/08 i'm finally getting around to processing more pics from the car show earlier this sommer. don't ask why i haven't done them yet, the answer is either insanity, laziness or both and that's much too depressing :-( this isn't what i was hoping for but i just didn't want to dump it so i'm inflicting it on you. plan to have the full gallery up in the next few days

dedmanshootn > sleek jaguar 08/21/08 wrenched my back at work yesterday and just don't want to do the stairs so you're getting something from the car show pics i shot last month and am finally getting started processing. this was on a gorgeous jag. i'm not happiest with the dof but... would've had this posted on time but my modem quit on me, if it ain't one thing its another. was quite bummed by that as i'd've really enjoyed looking at some of your wonderful pics. at least i'm back up and operating with minimum hassle so i really shouldn't complain, i'll complain anyway as seems my absolute right - indeed duty if one watches the tv news (which i definitely DON'T!) - in a democracy. one of my fav quotes, at least approxamitely as i don't have time to look it up as i need to get my sorry self off to work, is "democracy is the worst form of government ever, except for everything else man has tried."
dedmanshootn > off to the future! 08/22/08 this is the hood ornament from a gorgeous touring sedan that was at the greenwood car show. i thought it way too cool, the car was best of show as far as i'm concerned tho it didn't win. using it because i wrenched my back at work wednesday and just couldn't face the stairs while i was off work, tho i will be going into work today. my modem was inoperative, if its not one thing its another, so i haven't been able to comment the past day or so but i plan to catch up this week-end - again sigh. hope y'all have a very good week-end! (SHEESH! it definitely is one thing after another. can't get smugmug to recognize that i've added pics to this gallery and post to the dailies! GRRRRRR! have to go to work and can't fix it with them so good on ya and tyvm if you find this)
