this is the same tulip bed as my 04/28/08 shot but under much different conditions. the day here is overcast, tho still fairly bright, and breezy. i waited for moments when things appeared still and shot. i was testing settings again and like this the best

WINNER of the prestigious 'look what came out of the camera' award

had a few minutes before the bus came and saw these lovely tulips nearby. i've enjoyed the 'impressionist watercolor' effect several of you have used in 'post' (as you call it) lately. since the closest i have to post is my coat tree i decided to see if i could emulate it by messing with settings and focus in the strong direct light available. i didn't get the effect i was hoping for in the time available but i do kinda like this one

i don't know for sure what this is but the man mowing the yard told me its a sycamore tree. the leaves literally came out of the bud with the sunshine today. i was fascinated by the fine hairs in both the leaves and blossoms. i wish a had an actual macro lens though probably wouldn't have done any better as my tripod was holding down the fort at home while i walked to do some errands
