dedmanshootn > DOD (dear old dad) 05/16/08 i've always shot the day for the daily but i just got my stuff from mother's day processed and liked this one of my dad, especially his hands, so decided to use it today. i'll be down helping get his house ready for sale again this week-end so may not be able to post and almost for sure won't be able to comment. i look forward to catching up on all the wonderful stuff i missed when i get back
dedmanshootn > spring cones 05/15/08 this is one of the culprits firing up my allergies. though that wasn't why i was unable to go out the other day i very much appreciate the kind words and encouragement from y'all. this tree is right by my favorite library branch and it was so pretty in the evening light i just had to shoot it
dedmanshootn > rainy day garden tangle 05/14/08 this is my neighbors garden 4 floors below my window so i guess this is another 'my view' shot. poured rain all day which i loved as keeps air clear of allergens but i still couldn't make it out today so i shot 'out' again
dedmanshootn > yellow-rumped warbler 05/13/08 this guy is just launching into flight. there were at least a half dozen flitting about several trees and bushes and into the air catching and eating insects. i relaxed, watched and shot for at least half an hour. a very pleasant time
dedmanshootn > bright rhodie stack 05/12/08 walked past this rhododendron on the way to the mother's day party at my step-moms and couldn't resist stopping to shoot it. i'm back home so will hopefully be catching up on what beautiful and interesting pics i've missed over the week-end
dedmanshootn > apple blossom time 05/11/08 happy mother's day to all whom that may apply in any way. on slow connection so not commenting (and dead beat as i've been helping my dad clear stuff out of his house in preparation for its sale all day) but can at least upload. see y'all soon
dedmanshootn > lichen tree trunk (detail) 05/10/08 i'm posting early as i'm visiting my dad and his wife and they're early to bedder's. may or may not be able to post any more in the next few days til i get home and won't be able to comment either, probably, but look forward to catching up when i get home. this tree was by the bus stop where i was waiting to transfer to come to dad's right by the road. transit is so cheap tho takes a bit more time. by taking the route that transfered here i made the 77 mile trip for $3.25 in 2hr 45min virtually never miss my car and i sure don't miss those insurance payments and other bills. have a great week-end all
dedmanshootn > my (dusty) lucky bamboo 05/09/08 couldn't get out today because of continued allergies tho i was happy for everyone else who enjoyed the warm sunny spring day. i tried an indoor shot but hadn't the enrgy to get out and set up the tripod so its not as good as i'd like focuswise but other than that i'm reasonably happy with it
dedmanshootn > bluebells plus 05/08/08 first, i apologize for not getting to anyone's pics yesterday. i had brutal allergy attack and just barely managed to stagger through work then back home where i crashed and burned til about an hour ago when it rained haevily. THANK GOD FOR RAIN! i love rain generally but especially right now as its cleared the air of whatever was getting to me enough that my air treatment machine is handling it so that i can at least basically function. i shot this for 2 simple reasons: i thought it pretty and it happened to be where i had to sit to catch my breath as best i could as i climbed the hill home
dedmanshootn > soaring bald eagle 05/07/08 this isn't the best shot at all i know and i had to crop it way down. what it IS tho is the first "wingshot" of an eagle i've had turn out reasonably clear at all as they're usually too high and fast for my meager eqpt and ability. i bought groceries at my local today and this dude was flying right overhead when i came out to the bus stop. i grabbed my camera out and snapped away even tho i knew i wouldn't get much. a passing suv almost wrecked craning around to look out the sunroof to see what i was shooting and the squeal of the brakes drew all eyes most of whom also then looked up and got that special "AH!" that comes with soaring eagles
dedmanshootn > chestnut treetrunk (detail) 05/06/08 this trunk is approx 4.5 feet in diameter and i'm told by an old-time 'hamster' that its over 80 yrs old. its my second fav tree in town and is just down the block from my place. my fav tree,also a chestnut and reputed to be over 100 yrs, is 3 blocks uphill so you got this one today
dedmanshootn > evening view 05/05/08 this is another kitchen window shot, for the same reason as last time. i have one of the cheapest apartments in the entire city (for at least a while yet) and i like to think i also have a pretty nice view. (i apologize for the focus but this was shot through the glass)

dedmanshootn > learned something new 05/01/08 i like to shoot wall art (signs, murals, graffiti - tho i think 'taggers' should be used to field test anchors - shadows, whathaveyou) and this is one of the more unusual things i've seen
