dedmanshootn > photo collage from DOD's memorial service 08/19/08 this is the photo collage my sis and her friend created for DOD's memorial service (sunday the 17th). sis gave me a ride home tonight and we had dinner with my boss's (boss, big boss, middle boss and little boss) at another friends restaurant and brought this along so they could see it as none of them could make the service. i should be baqck to regular posting and commenting now. just ran out of inspiration, time and energy for while. lots of stuff still to do for DOD's estate but should be able to post and comment regularly, i hope. thank you one and all for the kind thoughts, prayers and good wishes. muchly appreciated. off to bed tonight as back to work in the morning but look forward to catching up on what's been going on in the daily pic world asap
dedmanshootn > wedding cake top 08/18/08 this is in my sis's china cabinet. its the top she made for their wedding cake when they were married several years ago. i thought it looked nice in the light from the skylight but ended up having to use a bit of flash to do it justice
dedmanshootn > bathroom waterpipe and unhung towel bar 08/12/08 the small pipe with the red handle runs along under the lip of the tub (bottom right) to my bathroom sink and the top pipe goes around through the wall to the bath and kitchen sink. you can see the great distance ;-) between the toilet (bottom left) and the tub. my apartment is very compact, old and kinda funky but i really like it. i'm hanging in. thank you all again for your kind concern and comments
dedmanshootn > nineteen-twenty-nine 08/11/08 shot this coming out from paying my electric bill. never noticed before that the address was the famous market crash year (i usually pick up on odd relations like that immediately but i've been going here twenty-five years without noticing until today. this is immediately in front of the door and i liked the wear visible from countless feet treading on it. left it the perspective i shot it cuz i think it looks cooler this way. sorry i haven't been looking through much of your stuff. i look forward to catching up but am too wiped right now. hope you and yours are doing as well as can be
dedmanshootn > late but still pretty flower 08/10/08 don't know what this beauty is or why its blooming so much later than its siblings but i'm glad it is. it quite brightened my day, hope it does the same for you
dedmanshootn > buddy 125 scooter (detail) 08/09/08 this is my neighbor's scooter again. we've had some rain and i thought the dirt showing the slipstream patterns by the seat pedestal quite interesting, also how clean and shiny the rear stayed. i enjoy sculpture and design of all kinds. thank you all again so much for your kind words and support. i can't find words (or a pic either) to express my appreciation. bless you all
dedmanshootn > summer cones 08/08/08 i'd hoped the cool patterns of running sap would come out more striking asthey were shining quite brightly to my eye. didn't capture this as well as i wanted but i always like cones and greens
dedmanshootn > pretty purple clematis 08/07/08 this beauty is outside my late DOD's wife's home. i saw it as i was getting ready to come home after we were planning arrangements for DOD's memorial etc and, even though i was dead dog tired, i just couldn't resist trying a shot. thank you all so much for your ourpouring of compassion and support. it has been almost overwhelming and much ppreciated by me and my whole family. bless you all for your caring and kindness. hope things are as well as can be for each of you and those you love
dedmanshootn > ancient roots 1000+ year old sitka spruce and DOD quinault, wa in memoriam rollin cooke walton, Dear Old Dad, gone to be with the Lord he loved 08/06/08 DOD always tried to encourage and help everyone. his love and compassion were a blessing to people beyond count. he was always ready with a helping hand and encouraging word. he had his faults, as do we all, but always took responsibility for his actions and tried to make amends if he had wronged. beloved by many, he will be sorely missed. DOD passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends who sang him some favorite hymns as he slipped from the bonds of this earth. gone but never forgotten r.i.p. DOD this picture was shot at the end of september 2007 on the last, of many, trips that DOD and i took together. it is one of my faves of him. there have been many great men throughout history but i can think of no one i'd be prouder to call father. enlarge for best viewing and please click a thumbs up; i'd like this to be number one of the most popular pics of mine as a small tribute to a fine man
dedmanshootn > old worn sink (detail) 08/05/08 too tired and worn to think of a good shot so you get this, my (for a bit longer anyway) bathroom sink. DOD was taken in emergency and is in intensive care with a sudden virulent lung infection. he can hardly talk or eat as just breathing is such a tressful chore but he's still determined to get better and go home. thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers. hop[e you and yours are doing as well as can be
dedmanshootn > light pink hollyhocks 08/04/08 not very happy with this but it was best i could do under the overcast and i just didn't want to shoot anything indoors. didn't even notice the ladybug on the leaf when i was shooting or i might've tried a more close up on it with a flash and forgotten about trying to get the flwoers on a dull day. hope this finds you and yours doing better than grand!
dedmanshootn > yucca fly 08/03/08 saw these lovely sweating yucca flowers and had to take a few shots, even tho i STILL haven't cleaned my sensor :-( , this fly flew in to drink while i was shooting so i adfusted a bit and nabbed it too, even tho it is a yucky fly
dedmanshootn > buddy 125 08/01/08 this is late because smugmug was down for repair or whatever when i was going to upload then i was busy all of a long day and crashed and burned immediately when i got home. this is a detail from my neighbors scooter
dedmanshootn > DOD and the little boss 08/02/08 this is a 'cheat' because i didn't shoot it. i'm posting it anyway because i like it and i'm 'lawyering' that it was shot with my camera. i was just too tired to shoot much so passed the camera on. DOD packed a big oxygen tank in the car and made it out to dinner HURRAY! aas you can guess he's much improved, docs don't like to use words like miracles but since the consensus when he was in the hospital a while ago, http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4753036_v9Lqd#314391461_stAdb , was that he should go into a hospice and would likely be dead by now there isn't much else they can say. thank you all who've prayed and hoped! too tired when i got home to process and post so i'm posting now that i finally woke up (two-thirty p.m.). hope y'all are doing great and i look forward to catching up on what i've been missing in your always interesting dps
dedmanshootn > sweet and not so sweet 07/31/08 there's a shared garden right by the bus stop where i get off to go to the grocery store. i've been meanning to get a nice picture of its guardian but didn't want to change lenses. today i shot it this way on purpose with my regular lens to he;p disguise that i still haven't managed to get the sensor cleaned. goinh to return my apartmetn and hopefully rake care of the problem in the morning. too tired and off to sleep now. the building that this community garden belongs to is in this shot (the garden is the fence at the far left) if you're interested. http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4855371_JgWrE#310496782_SeSxT
