thanks so much to all of you for your care and concern. hopefully i'm back and will be posting and commenting regularly again. really looking forward to catching up on the great things here on smug, the dailies especially, as i've hardly even turned my puter on, let alone spent much time smuggin, since i last posted. did manage to do the annual picture framing event again this year. the gallery is in my 'featured' if you're interested. i'm including a link to one pic that won a prize in their 'recycled' contest as i thought it was just too cool. thanks again, i hope you're all doing tons better than i've been.

please check out the next pic in this gallery, its the little boss's take on this daily. she was at work with us the past two day and will likely be today also as the schools have been closed due to the flooding. see the weather report below if you're interested. i'm including a link to the full size pics used for this below also. these shots came about because the little bass wanted to sharpen her pencils but they wouldn't work right in her little sharpener so after we had lunch i showed her how we used to sharpen pencils with a knife in 'the old days'. our deal was i'd sharpen if she'd clean up so she grabbed on of our guest check trays to carry the chips to the wastebasket and i said "hey that would make a cool picture" and here you are. i really like the one of her hands and for those of you that like pics ;like that i recommend the link to the full-size pic.

the rain has finally slowed and occasionally stopped for a half hour or so. its also cooled down which should help slow down the melt run-off from the mountains. according to a amature weather station not to far from my place we've had close to tem inches of rain right here in the past sixty hours or so. the worst i've heard around the area was over fifteen and the reports from the mountains have said that snow pack has melted as much as twenty-eight inches in the same period. some of the transit drivers were on alert with buses ready to go in case smaller communities along the river needed to be evacuated en mass but fortunately that plan didn't have to be used tho many people have had to abandon their homes. my sis and b-i-l are ok though the water came all the way up their yard but not into the house thankfully. several of out friends have had to abandon their homes or suffered other property damage but so far no injuries or worse to anyone we know. thanks for all the well wishes. blessings to all y'all

haven't been taking my camera along with me so as to make it easy going through security at the courthouse. feel somewhat naked and lacking without it. i am on a case and looks like it'll probably run at least two to three more weeks so i talked with security today about my camera and worked out a way acceptable to both of us that i can carry it and not cause them undue work. this is from right across the street from my apartment (immediately behind where i stood for the 'massage' shot the other day) as i just ran down the stairs before it got too dark to snatch something for a dp. for those who commented aobut seeing my 'home' the other day there's a more complete shot of my bldg from similar perspective:

won't be commenting as much as i've many things on my plate right now that will require tighter time management to get done around the long jury duty. WILL be looking and commenting some lest i lose what little is left of my mind ;-) posting early again

this is a detail from another of the 'artsy benches' around town. this one is no more comfortable than the one i shot last month but with the nice sun at least looks a bit cooler i think. i was overwhelmed by your too too kind welcome back! hardly know what to say but THANK YOU! its such a pleasure and privilege to be involved with such great photogs and people. had intended to spend a lot of time relaxing in the dailies last night but darn oole life has this way of not cooperating alas, hopefully shall tonight. almost didn't get this posted as i slept through my alarm and i need to get going to get to work. really wanted to get another post up tho. each one tends to make the next easier after you've been away a while i think. thanks again for all the kind words and wishes. bless all y'all!
